These lifestyle sessions are my first love when it comes to photography. I have an incredible passion for capturing the authentic relationships and reality of your family.

Before the session, you and I will have lots of communication, before I even show up to photograph your family. Whether through email, over the phone, or at coffee, I will already know a lot about your family and what makes you tick before we meet for our session. Largely in part to a custom survey I have created to allow me to really get to know how your family works.

That being said, there are a few things that I ask that you NOT do before I come over!

This is all about capturing the reality of what life is really like for your family. The most important thing for me during these sessions is being able to see your connections and love for each other.

On the day of your session, the first thing I will do is ask to meet the kiddos. I don’t like to jump right into shooting, but rather begin a relationship with them by chatting, and laughing. I might ask them to show me their room, or we might sit down and play a quick game of candy land or blow bubbles in the backyard. Whatever I need to do to gain their trust and respect – this is extremely important for me to be able to capture their true self.

I want your day to go on pretty much as you would if I weren’t there! I may re-position you, or ask you to do something again, or move a chair to the other side of the room, but other than that, just think of me as a new family member at the dinner table! I will play dress up, throw the dog a bone, help mom make cookies, and even play hide and seek in the back yard, but I will have my camera around my neck the entire time.

And lastly, please do not ask your children to smile, or say cheese – leave that up to me. I can be pretty darn hysterical, just ask my husband…

About two weeks after your portrait session is the Session Premier. In the comfort of your own home, while you enjoy one of our insanely delicious desserts, your family’s memories will unfold as a custom slideshow set to a backdrop of hand selected music. That night, you will also receive special premier pricing!
